CORNERSTONE DEADLINE
The deadline for the Holiday Season Cornerstone (December & January) is Thursday, Nov.
20 @ 2 PM.

COME AND FIND A QUIET CENTRE

The Christmas season is one filled with noise and cheer, busyness and an emphasis on families and presents.

So often, this is overwhelming, and makes us feel like we shouldn't feel sad, lonely, tired, or grieving. It may be hard to attend church and sing carols, or join in other holiday activities. Sometimes we need a quiet centre, a place where it is safe to just sit and be still, cry or grieve, pray or meditate, remember and be renewed.

This year, we will be opening up our sanctuary as a Quiet Centre during the season leading to Christmas. You are invited to stop in for a quiet place, a chance to pray or rest, a conversation with Emily or Don, or a chance to light a candle in memory of someone who is gone. You are welcome to come for a few minutes or a few hours, once or as many times as renews you.

Mon., Dec. 8th 1-3pm, Wed., Dec. 10th 5-8pm Mon., Dec. 15th 1-3pm, Wed., Dec. 17th 5-8pm & Fri., Dec. 19th 5-8pm Mon., Dec. 22nd 1-3pm Wed., Dec. 24th 9-11am

Our sanctuary is open to anyone in the community, so please share the word and join us in this quiet time. If you have any questions, please speak to Don or Emily.

MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS
Communications is a real ministry, one that allows us to honour the gifts of those in our congregation, and be clear about who were are for the community around us. At the moment, different communication work is being done, but we can improve our ministry with more coordination and some creative thinking. If you would like to take part in an initial brainstorming and ideas meeting for a new Communications Ministry Team, please join us on Friday, November 21st at 10 a.m. You are welcome to come to this meeting, even if you cannot make an ongoing commitment. If you are unable to attend the meeting, but are interested in sharing your gifts in communication, please speak with Emily Gordon.

SHARING TIME MINISTRY TEAM
The Programme Committee is seeking members for a Sharing Time Ministry Team. Sharing Time is a special segment of the Sunday service set aside for the children of the church; it provides an opportunity for members of the church community of all ages to share their experience and talents. Although Sharing Time has typically consisted of a story for the children, usually tied to the Scripture used in the early part of the service, the Programme Committee is hoping to add a variety of contributions to appeal to children and to speak to their faith journeys.
We know that our congregation has many talented people who care deeply about our mission to the children of our church and community. The Sharing Time Ministry Team is one way to encourage children to feel included and cherished in our midst. We hope to recruit sufficient members of the Team so that no one will find their time commitment onerous and so that we can schedule in advance to take account of vacations or work and family obligations. If you are interested in participating, please contact Marion Boyd (519-368-5327 or marion@marionboyd.net ).

OTHER NEWS:
FOOD BANK NEEDS YOUR DONATION
Our church is a regular supporter of the Kincardine Food Bank. To help boost donations, the Membership & Mission committee has deemed the last Sunday of each month as a special time to remember to bring a non-perishable item.
Some suggestions are:
cans of ham, fruit, stew, vegetables, toiletries (shampoo, toothpaste, soap, etc.), peanut butter, pasta, cookies, school snacks, jam, cereal, and feminine products.
Let's overflow the wire shopping cart in the narthex next Sunday and every month! Thank you for your contributions, for sharing and for caring.

BOSTON PIZZA ... Just a reminder to keep bringing in your Sunday receipts and place them in the jar on the table in the Narthex or drop them directly into our new receipt box in the restaurant. Our Church receives 10% of Sunday sales - any time of day on any Sunday!

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS
The nursery is need of volunteers (adults and helpers)!!! If you would be interested in helping out in the nursery, please give Angela a call at 396-4594. The schedule is done up twice a year and each volunteer works about two times on each schedule (about four times a year). We always need young people to be helpers, as well. Find out if you enjoy working with children! We offer a safe and fun environment for children during church. Thank you for your help!
